Deploy a Docker image

Run a Docker Hub image directly, with your own variables and port. Its volume persists.

1 min read

You can run a published Docker Hub image without any build step. The platform pulls the image and runs it as your application.

Give the image

In the create form, choose Docker image and fill in the Image, for example nginx:1.27 or grafana/grafana:11.2.0.

Two rules:

  • Docker Hub only. Images from other registries (such as GHCR, Quay or lscr.io) are not accepted for this source.
  • A tag or digest is required. Use name:tag or name@sha256:.... A bare image name with no tag is refused, so a deploy always pulls a known version rather than drifting with latest.

There is no builder to choose, because the image is already built.

Variables and port

Set the image's configuration as environment variables, the same way the image's own documentation describes its settings. Set the App port under Configure your application to the port the image listens on, so traffic reaches it.

A redeploy pulls the image again and applies your current variables.

The volume persists

An application from a Docker image keeps its disk between deploys, so data the container writes is still there after you redeploy. That is what makes images like databases or file servers usable here. Size the disk under Configure your application; it can grow but not shrink.
